Behind the Scenes: Dunkirk

Do you ever go see movies in IMAX? I’ve seen maybe four or five. The scale of these screens which used to be relegated to nature documentaries is beyond fascinating.

Christopher Nolan continues the grand evolution of his filmmaking with Dunkirk, his first war film, and is shooting it on IMAX cameras. These cameras were not accessible over a decade ago. They were very large and clunky. While still massively expensive, you can see here they are attaching them to planes and carrying them around for ground and underwater shots. Amazing.
