Measured Creative Craziness

I was listening to the latest episode of The Cine-Files on Rocky, and discovered Sylvester Stallone’s dedication to getting this project off the ground was pretty nuts.

He had a very measured creative craziness in ensuring his involvement in the film. He turned down multiple offers for his script because they did not want Stallone to star. Could you imagine Rocky with Robert Redford as Rocky Balboa?

This guy was homeless, very poor and desperate for his big break. He finally took scale ($20,000), was able to star, the budget cut by a quarter, and he had to film in 28 days. What?!

It’s a great episode for a wonderful movie. Give it a listen.
